Trust is earned by expressing true remorse for the betrayal, a dedication to refocus one's attention on the relationship and ending the involvement with the other person, and by working on understanding why the choice was made to commit infidelity. Rebuilding trust is not a quick nor an easy process. It takes time and a commitment to put in the work but it can be done through consistency, honesty, repair, and reconnection. Infidelity Counseling Sessions will provide you with a safe space to work on the healing needed to move forward.
If you were the betrayed, you are going to be experiencing what might feel like an overwhelming roller coaster ride of emotions. If you were the betrayer, you are going to want the conversations about your infidelity to stop. The truth is that you both are going to be forced to have some very uncomfortable conversations as you work to heal your relationship. Relationships that survive not only address the betrayal but they also work diligently at creating a new and improved relationship creating positive new memories with each other.
Whether or not you choose to stay in your relationship, both parties would benefit from INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING after the discovery of infidelity. If you are the betrayed, working with a licensed therapist will help you process your anger and sadness. If you are the betrayer, you will get help to gain an understanding as to why you made the choice to risk your relationship by committing infidelity and what you want for yourself going forward.
Dealing with an emotionally-charged topic like infidelity can be extremely difficult for couples. COUPLES THERAPY is a safe environment to address the hurt and pain associated with the discovery of infidelity. If staying together is your goal, you will be given the tools and steps needed to repair your relationship. If you choose to separate and divorce, you will learn the healthiest way to move on from each other.
